Responsibilities 
The Director, Safety Oversight Compliance Support position is responsible for acting as the central agency point of contact for external regulatory agencies and supporting regulatory activity. The incumbent will manage all Federal Transit Administration (FTA)/Public Transportation Safety Board (PTSB) Requests for Information (RFI) and the maintenance of the tracking database. The incumbent will provide support as necessary and may participate in field audits and investigations, track corrective action plans/recommendations and all correspondence.  This position manages FTA biweekly meetings and field visits.   Additionally, the incumbent will serve as the agency representative and administrator for the PTSB (Quarterly and ad hoc) meetings and will assume responsibility for some or all aspects of tracking and responding to NYS Department of Labor Public Employee Safety and Health activity
 
Compensation 
Salary Range: $126,098- $157,623 - Grade SAS008
  
Education and Experience 
Education Degree Required: Associate major field of study Engineering, Transportation, Safety or a related field. A satisfactory combination of education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree Ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience, six (5) years of which must have been in a supervisory or managerial capacity. 
 
Desired Skills
Extensive knowledge of Rail operations, safety disciplines, accident investigation techniques, system safety principles, and experience supporting safety oversight authorities. 

Working knowledge of 49 CFR Parts 670, 672, 673, and 674 and PTSB State Safety Oversight Program Standards and regulations especially 17 CRR-NY 990 State Public Transportation Safety Board. 

Safety, PTSCTP, CSP and TSSP license preferred. 

Employees must be proficient in MS Office applications
