Summary

 

The Senior Commercial Manager will lead MTA Construction and Development's efforts to implement and oversee commercial matters for a significant component of the MTA Capital Program within the Delivery Department. 

 

Responsibilities

Responsible for escalating issues, making quick decisions, and enabling an efficient and qualitative product pertaining to commercial contract issues.

Oversees and develops managers and staff.

The Senior Commercial Manager collaborates with other MTA C&D Commercial Manager(s) to implement practical commercial and Change Management best practices within programs/projects. 

Oversees non-technical aspects of ongoing Contracts, including compliance with the Contract documents to ensure that the requirements of the contracts are implemented and maintained.

 

Review contract performance by monitoring compliance documents, schedules, and deliverables.

 

Assists in drafting contracts/RFPs for design or engineering services.

 

Administer current owner-prime contracts and flow them down to subcontractors, task orders, and modifications.

 

Administer and oversee contract performance by monitoring compliance documents, schedules, deliverables, and requirements.

 

Develops processes for non-technical contract administration elements to adhere to the contract's requirements as necessary. 

 

Train the project team on these processes and execute their implementation.

 

Review all contract documents to minimize conflicts and ambiguities.

 

Conducts contract awareness and leads change management efforts with key project staff.

 

Assists Project Management in preparation of correspondence and maintaining records necessary to ensure the effective administration of all Contractual matters.

 

Education and Experience

 

Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Construction or Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or a related field.

 

Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of related experience.

Proficient computer skills (i.e., Windows environment, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.) and strong business administrative skills (i.e., presentations, report and letter writing, time management, etc.).

Pursuant to the New York State Public Officers Law & the MTA Code of Ethics, all employees who hold a policymaking position must file an Annual Statement of Financial Disclosure (FDS) with the NYS Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (the "Commission").
