Hourly Rate:             $19.00 (Undergraduate)
 
Overview of Department:
 
The Office of the Vice President, Service Delivery at New York City Transit (NYCT) is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the subway system to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient service for millions of riders. The office provides strategic leadership and operational oversight across subdivisions, including the Field Operations, Operations Control Center, and Field Operations Support. Interns will act as a representative and liaison to facilitate and coordinate communication and interaction among senior staff, division heads, and other internal/external stakeholders. This role will also research assigned topics, aid in the development/implementation of strategic projects.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Drafting Reports
  • Gathering and organize data/information
  • Develop SharePoint
  • Review/Update existing documents
  • Collaborate with Analysts
  • Participate in meetings
  • Offer ideas and solutions
  • Power Apps/ Application/ Webpage design and implementation
  •  The collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports.

Projects:

  • Improving knowledge management.
  • Automating & Streamlining Routine Processes
  • Using HTML/JavaScript to develop Application

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is a must.
  • The candidate should possess organizational, analytical and communication skills. 
  • The candidate should be able to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • The candidate should have a keen eye for detail and be able to work independently while being an active team player.
  • Experience collecting and evaluating data, including preparation of charts, graphs, drawings, and technical reports.

Required Education:

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate program in good standing with at least a 2.5 GPA 
  • Major(s) Preferred: Business Analytics, Operations Research, Computer Science, Business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area.
