Job Description: 
Metropolitan Environmental Services, an environmental contracting company, is seeking candidates for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic position to service, repair/troubleshoot various pieces of equipment, Cat & Bell Articulating Haul Trucks, Excavators, and Bulldozers.
 
Job Details: 
Position: Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Job Type: Full time 40-60 hours per week and overtime
Location: Cartersville, GA
Hours: 7:00 am-3:30 pm
Pay: $23.00 - $32.00 / hour

Requirements: 
  • Heavy equipment experience, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. 
  • Diesel, electrical, and hydraulic equipment experience, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance. 
  • Report to the same site daily, but willing to travel occasionally, a plus.
  • Welding experience is a plus.
  • Flexibility to repair different types of equipment: Haul trucks, Excavators, Bulldozers, Water Trucks, Wheel Loaders, etc.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Candidates must have reliable transportation and live within a commutable distance of Cartersville, GA
  • No OMVI/DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions within the past 2 years
  • No license suspensions or major violations in the past 3 years
  • No more than 2 speeding tickets or 4 total moving violations in the past 3 years
  • Willingness to comply with all company and client safety and operational policies
  • Flexibility to work some weekends and occasional travel based on project needs
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions performing physical labor
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • All candidates must complete and pass a DOT physical, company non-DOT physical, or a combination of both, which includes bloodwork, lift test, pulmonary function test (PFT), audiogram, and a company drug screen
