Role Summary

MetaPhase supports the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO) at the National Science Foundation (NSF). This project supports the CIO/CDO through the implementation of data governance, data architecture & design, data quality initiatives, and community engagement programs through information sharing to harmonize the development of NSF’s data infrastructure. 
 
In support of this project, MPC is seeking a Business Analyst with 3-5 years of experience to support our Chief Data Officer in various data-related initiatives. The candidate’s responsibilities will include work on Data Governance, building a data-oriented community, informing the community, building and promoting governance structure, synthesize and prioritize team priorities in alignment with the Data Strategy. Lead, manage, and coordinate meetings. Provide high level operational support to the CDO and team. Coordinate specific projects from charter through completion (example Training Initiative)
 

What You Will Be Doing

  • Perform typical Business Systems Analysis functions including, but not limited to; support of requirements elicitation, workflow and business process analysis, change management and project support.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
  • Timely preparation of meeting materials and presentations to facilitate ideation
  • Function as team scrum master, contributing to the development of monthly reporting and data strategy compliance
  • Community of Practice coordination to include engagement with data leaders and community stakeholders, curating agendas that reflect COP priorities and supporting progress in organizational data maturity.
  • Support the CDO around data initiatives such as Data Strategy, Data Framework, Data Literacy, Training and Upskilling
  • Support the Enterprise Data Inventory (EDI) team to standardize definitions around tables and attributes.
  • Manage events, examples include hackathon, retreat, training video watch party to evaluate content, NSF Data Symposium

What We Need From You

  • A minimum of 3+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in using the Microsoft Suite (to include Excel) to analyze data and create presentations
  • Proficient in preparing Microsoft Power Point presentations
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint
  • Exceptional organization and communication skills
  • US citizenship is required (No exceptions)

Bonus Points

  • Proven experience supporting a Chief Data Officer (CDO) in data-related initiatives
  • Proven experience in driving process improvements and automation initiatives
  • Familiarity with data quality assessment technique
  • Scrum Master experience working on an Agile team

Work Location

Hybrid - may be required to travel to client site in Alexandria, VA (1-4 times per month)
