MetaPhase is currently supporting a public sector client within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security through the management of a Division’s high-level operations. Primary responsibilities include technical writing, project management, communications development, and process improvement as well as reporting and presentation development in the form of PowerPoint, white papers, etc.    
  
MetaPhase is seeking a mid-level Technical Writer to provide communications, process improvement, operations management, project and program management, analysis, and reporting support.  This position is a mid-level role with growth and development opportunities.     
  

What You Will Be Doing       

  • Perform a full range of administrative, operations, and support functions within established deadlines 
  • Participate in task management workstream for client ranging from system management, language refinement and drafting, consolidation, coordination, and reporting 
  • Lead or support process documentation and improvement efforts including evaluating the current state, identifying and prioritizing areas for improvement, and working with stakeholders to develop, document, implement, and sustain new processes and procedures 
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to identify challenges, recommend solutions, create value, integrate diverse perspectives, and manage expectations 
  • Translate complex concepts and solutions into deliverables ranging from standard operating procedures, project management plans, and other guidance documents to PowerPoint presentations, one-pagers, newsletters, emails, checklists, and other communication materials 
  • Apply strong communication skills to build relationships, connect people, and support team members 

Basic Qualifications (Required) 

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience working with organizations on administrative and communications teams
  • Experience with Business Operations teams and functions is desired, particularly related to audits and internal controls
  • Excellent written acumen, stakeholder engagement, and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to deliver high quality documentation with strict attention to detail 
  • Aptitude for creativity, innovation, analysis, process improvement, and problem-solving 
  • Innate ability to convey complex concepts simplistically via Microsoft Office Suite products (such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio) 
  • Familiarity with SharePoint
  • Current U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Public Trust clearance desired
  • U.S. Citizenship required (no exceptions)

Work Location

Indianapolis, IN or Washington, D.C. (hybrid schedule with telework and in-office requirements)  

Travel

Infrequent (less than 10%)  

Education Level

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in political science, business administration, public policy, public affairs, communications, English, journalism, creative writing, or a related field  

Clearance Level

This position requires a CBP Public Trust clearance. U.S. Citizenship is also required.
