Role Summary
MetaPhase is seeking a System Architect to be part of an IT Service Management team supporting the infrastructure operations of a large federal agency which provides infrastructure services on a shared services model. Primary responsibilities include establishing architectural standards for infrastructure services and supporting their implementation in current and future enterprise operating environments.
What You Will Be Doing
- Architect infrastructure services on an Azure Cloud platform.
- Set architecture standards for infrastructure initiatives spanning Cloud, Trusted Internet Connection, Uniform Access, Multi-Tenant, Metro Ethernet, Voice Services, Bandwidth Options, and Carrier Diversity.
- Document as-is and to-be system architectures and advise on modernization strategies.
- Work with diverse stakeholders including OCIO executive leadership, service provider teams (e.g. AT&T), technology and operational leaders from all divisions, and shared service customer representatives.
- Work closely with security team to ensure service security, especially at key integration points between organizational units and firewalls.
- Understand the nuances of connectivity across the federated, hybrid enterprise landscape; understand and document complex routing.
- Ensure system compatibility and compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the OSI and ISO reference models, and profiles of standards - such as IEEE OSE reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of information management solution of the application platform, across the API, and the external environment/software application.
- Analyze workflows, organizations, and processes to identify architectural problems and develop appropriate corrective actions.
- Work within an Agile development environment.
What We Need From You (Required)
- Advanced degree and/or 10 years of experience in complex systems architecture
- Experience architecting enterprise-wide, large-scale, and complex infrastructure systems and services to provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces
- Experience supporting infrastructure initiatives such as Cloud, Trusted Internet Connection, Uniform Access, Multi-Tenant, Metro Ethernet, Bandwidth Options, and Carrier Diversity.
- Experience architecting on an Azure Cloud platform.
- Knowledge of standards for open systems architectures, OSI and ISO reference models, and profiles of standards - such as IEEE OSE reference model – and experience applying them to ensure compliance of the application platform, APIs, and software applications.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and comply with enterprise architecture requirements and applicable reference models within the Federal government.
- Ability to analyze problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develop appropriate corrective action.

Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $140-160K
