Role Summary
MetaPhase supports a secure Federal mission environment that depends on reliable, automated, and observable platforms. The work combines cloud engineering, DevSecOps, software delivery, SRE, and cybersecurity to help mission teams release and operate critical capabilities with confidence.
MetaPhase is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer with at least 10 years of relevant experience to lead platform engineering practices that accelerate delivery through automation, secure infrastructure, and resilient cloud operations. This engineer will provide technical direction while remaining hands-on across CI/CD, infrastructure as code, observability, incident response, and developer experience.
What You Will Be Doing
Design and lead scalable CI/CD pipelines that automate build, test, security scanning, deployment, and rollback across multiple environments.
Implement secure infrastructure as code and platform automation for resilient cloud and hybrid environments using repeatable, version-controlled patterns.
Partner with software engineering, SRE, and security teams to embed Zero Trust, secrets management, vulnerability remediation, and policy checks into delivery workflows.
Build and improve self-service developer platforms, containerized runtime environments, and orchestration frameworks that simplify secure software delivery.
Establish observability through logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, dashboards, and service level objectives that support actionable operational decisions.
Lead incident-response improvements through runbooks, root-cause analysis, automation, and follow-through on corrective actions.
Mentor engineering teams, define platform standards, and provide hands-on technical leadership for secure, reliable, and highly observable production systems.
What We Need From You (Required)
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, site reliability engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI access. U.S. Citizenship is required.
Advanced proficiency with CI/CD platforms, Git-based workflows, infrastructure as code, containers, and Kubernetes or comparable orchestration technologies.
Hands-on experience developing secure cloud and hybrid platforms using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Helm, Docker, and automated configuration management.
Experience integrating SAST, SCA, DAST, secrets management, identity controls, and infrastructure security checks into software-delivery pipelines.
Ability to communicate technical platform concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with software engineers, SREs, security teams, mission users, and delivery leadership.
What Sets You Apart (Preferred)
Experience delivering DevSecOps or platform engineering capabilities for cyber, intelligence, law enforcement, or other mission-critical environments.
Experience with AWS, Azure, or comparable regulated cloud environments, including cloud performance and cost management.
Proficiency with GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, ArgoCD, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, and policy-as-code tooling.
Experience creating internal developer platforms, reusable pipeline templates, and self-service infrastructure capabilities.
Experience with SRE practices, including SLOs, error budgets, incident response, logging, metrics, tracing, and operational dashboards.
Current TS/SCI clearance and demonstrated ability to support work in secure on-site environments.
