Role Summary
MetaPhase is seeking a motivated and talented Data Analytics and Visualization Consultant to support the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), through the IT Training and Communications Services (ITaCS) initiative. This role will translate complex business questions into clear, actionable insights that improve internal operations and support Executive Branch stakeholders.
The consultant will work across data analytics, visualization, reporting, data preparation, and quality assurance using tools such as Power BI, Excel, Databricks, and Palantir Foundry. The ideal candidate will help build reliable, scalable, and repeatable analytics infrastructure while partnering with business, operational, and technical stakeholders in a collaborative environment.
What You Will Be Doing
- Automate extract, transform, and load (ETL) processes to streamline data preparation and enable efficient front-end reporting.
- Apply advanced data modeling concepts to develop efficient, maintainable, and reporting-ready data structures.
- Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and reports that turn complex information into clear, actionable insights.
- Partner with business, operational, and technical stakeholders to define requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose analytics solutions.
- Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and confidence in reporting outputs.
- Document data sources, transformation logic, reporting processes, and technical solutions to support transparency and knowledge sharing.
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting efficiency, reduce manual effort, and expand data-driven decision-making across the organization.
What We Need From You (Required)
- U.S. Citizenship.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience – College Internships count!
- Experience developing data visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and at least one business intelligence tool, such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python, or other data preparation and analytics technologies.
- Experience working with Databricks or a comparable cloud-based data and analytics platform.
- Advanced understanding of data modeling concepts and practices.
- Experience supporting ETL processes, data integration, or data management infrastructure.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work effectively on a team.
- Executive presence and the ability to engage directly with executive clients.
- Ability to obtain and maintain ICE Public Trust (High Risk) suitability – Team members cannot begin billing until ICE clearance and access are approved.
Bonus Points (Desired)
- Hands-on experience with Power BI, Databricks, or Palantir Foundry.
- Experience supporting Executive Branch stakeholders or a federal client environment.
- Demonstrated interest in learning new technologies and continuously improving existing analytics capabilities.
Work Location
Washington, DC. This role requires approximately 75% onsite co-location with the client team.
