Position Summary 
The Meridian SMB Sales Associate is vital to the growth and long-term success of the business.  Meridian has many existing SMB customers across the US, many with different day-to-day requirements.  To ensure that all our clients are supported properly, and in a timely manner, we have a dedicated team of SMB Sales Associates.  The SMB Sales Team is designed to maintain existing renewal business, fulfill new order requests, and to assess and drive new solutions based on future business outcome needs of each customer.  Each of our SMB Sales Associates manage and maintain many existing SMB client relationships and are tasked with providing superior customer service for long-term retention and growth of these clients.  
 
Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Support existing Meridian SMB customers;
  • Manage renewal business for timely processing of Meridian Managed and Vendor Maintenance contracts;
  • Communicate Meridian’s unique value proposition and core solution capabilities to all SMB customers;
  • Identify influencers and decision makers within existing customer accounts to target for messaging of the full scope of Meridian capabilities;
  • Plan and execute the next steps, follow-ups, and cadence required to drive account development and growth opportunities;
  • Identify current gaps in Meridian delivered customer solutions to drive towards growth opportunities;
  • Prioritize activities based on timely renewals and potential growth opportunities;
  • Daily contact with existing SMB customers to facilitate product purchases and maintenance renewals;
  • Positioning and upselling existing SMB customers on full scope of Meridian products and services;
  • Meet with SMB customers (virtually) on a regular basis to review upcoming renewals, position upgrades and migrations, as well as to determine near-future client needs and where Meridian products and solutions should be positioned;
  • Assist with building proposals, reviewing proposals with customers, overcoming objections, and closing the sale;
  • Effectively utilize internal tools sets such as Epicor, ConnectWise, and Salesforce;
  • Facilitate and execute in-bound requests through order processing;
  • Document and track SMB account development activities and growth opportunities;
  • Engage Meridian SMEs on growth opportunities to progress and close the sale;
  • Manage pipeline of opportunities with weekly, accurate forecast and opportunity updates;
  • Participate in on-going training;
  • Obtain manufacturer sales certifications as needed to maintain Meridian’s vendor partner status;
  • Perform other job duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications and Requirements 
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, with a concentration in marketing, promotions, advertising sales, or business administration;
  • 3+ Years industry sales experience preferred;
  • Familiarity with MS Office software and phone systems;
  • Must be a self-starter who is eager to learn, takes direction well, has a competitive drive, and works well in a team environment;
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and strong oral and written communication skills.
