JOB TITLE: Jr. Power System Engineer
REPORTS TO: Manager
LOCATION: HYDERABAD

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Jr. Power System engineer must have one-year IBMi System operator experience with good problem identifying skills and must have excellent communication skills. He/She should be able to work under Sr. Operator/Power Engineer and follow instructions on day-to-day issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Working on Halcyon monitoring console and identifying/fixing issues possible at this level or escalate to seniors.
- Handling and escalating tickets within SLA and engaging correct support groups for any high priority incidents.
- Monitor BRMS backups, iCluster and Maxava replication sets.
- Monitor system health and escalate potential risks to seniors.
- Work under supervision of Power system engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have Power system basic and IBMi OS beginner level knowledge.
- Operating Halcyon monitoring console.
- Review QSYSOPR message queue and determine cause of message waits
- Basic understanding of BRMS and Replication software iCluster or Maxava.
- Review work with problem entries and differentiate software and hardware issues.
- Should understand ITSM delivery concepts.
- Passionate about customer service.
- Ability/willingness to work 24*7 rotation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred.
