Description

Menlo School is seeking a dynamic and organized full-time Theatre Production and Facilities Manager to oversee and manage various performances, events, and productions. This role involves coordinating logistics, managing teams, and ensuring successful execution of performances and events in various campus venues. The Theatre Production and Facilities Manager actively collaborates with the Creative Arts team to realize the artistic vision while creatively addressing the challenges that typically arise during a production.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Plan and schedule technical rehearsals, production meetings, and performances for both school and external events, such as theatrical productions, concerts, and assemblies.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit and supervise a team of technical crew members, including stage managers, set designers, and lighting and sound technicians.
  • Student and Volunteer Engagement: Mentor students involved in production and coordinate with community volunteers for event support.
  • Logistics Management: Organize transportation, set construction, and equipment setup for productions. Oversee ticketing and budgeting for events, ensuring all expenses are managed within set budgets.
  • Technical Management and Maintenance: Responsible for managing the design and build of sets, coordination of light and sound, management of props and costumes, while ensuring equipment in event spaces is maintained and that all safety protocols are followed.
  • Rehearsal and Performance Support: Facilitate technical rehearsals and manage all technical aspects of performances. Ensure events run smoothly from start to finish.
  • Communication: Serve as the liaison between directors, administration, students, and parents. Maintain clear documentation and records related to event management and production.
  • Administration: Obtain and maintain all necessary permits and licenses and manage the production’s procurement and inventory.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience coordinating events and productions in a school or community environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams of staff, students, and volunteers.
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of productions, including lighting, sound, and set construction.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with budgeting and box office management.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and technical equipment maintenance.

Pay range:

 

In the spirit of pay transparency we share the base salary range for this position for the 2024-2025 academic year. The full pay range, which encompasses all experience levels is $90,000 - $120,000. Within this broad range, we pay in accordance with what could be reasonably expected based on an individual's experience level. Base salary is exclusive of fringe benefits, retirement plan employer contributions or potential stipends (for eligible employees). Pay ranges at Menlo are reasonable estimates of what the School anticipates paying for a role but are not guaranteed. If hired at Menlo School, your final base salary will be determined by factors such as skills, education, experience, job level, part-time status and number of months of work per academic year. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity with our current employees as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the generous range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical for Menlo School in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
