Accounts Receivable & Cash Management Specialist
Studio City, CA

Summary:

As the Accounts Receivable & Cash Management Specialist at Mendocino Farms, you will support the company by managing catering receivables, reviewing tender discrepancies, and assisting with customer payment inquiries, among other tasks.  We’re looking for a detailed problem solver who can work closely with operations, clients, and our third-party accounting group to accomplish their tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Review A/R aging to identify past due accounts and contact clients to resolve payment issues
  • Analyze tender reconciliations and work with operations and our third-party accounting group to research and resolve discrepancies
  • Process and deposit house account and corporate check payments
  • Monitor accounting email inboxes to provide support to operations, guests and clients
  • Reconcile the corporate credit card bill and ensure timely processing of transactions
  • Consolidate and audit catering third party delivery transactions to assess fees and payments
  • Manage and respond to credit card chargebacks and inquiries
  • Perform credit application reviews to determine house account eligibility
  • Accurately produce monthly sublease invoicing
  • Provide guest support by processing refunds or responding to payment inquiries
  • Gather, consolidate and prepare weekly restaurant-level Operations reporting, including key financial and operational metrics
  • Trouble-shoot issues related to restaurant-level financial schedules with Operations (General Manager, Director of Operations, and Chief Operations Officer)
  • Verify, allocate and prepare general ledger entries for reconciling account balances as necessary
  • Develop, maintain and analyze reports via the company’s accounting system
  • Analyze and summarize financial information
  • Assist with internal and external audits to ensure compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP principles as well as federal, state and local financial requirements
  • Develop and document and follow business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, etc.
  • Participate in other ad hoc projects and requests as needed

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or accounts receivable
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, regulations, policies and procedures
  • Proven, solid Excel skills and exposure to automated accounting systems
  • Ability to solve problems by gathering information, making recommendations, and ensuring effective execution
  • Detail oriented, with a desire to understand every aspect of the business and independently identify and pursue improvement opportunities
  • Ability to interact with senior executives and management, as well as team members at all levels
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and effectively meet critical deadlines; natural curiosity for problem solving
  • Experience in restaurant and/or multi-unit company is a plus

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Sitting / standing 6-8 hours.
