As the Director of Sales & Marketing at Mendocino Farms, you will report to the VP of Marketing and lead a team focused on driving sales and the execution of the marketing calendar across digital touch points. You will work closely alongside the Brand Marketing vertical on overall marketing strategies, digital guest engagement, calendar deployment, and content creation based upon needs. Furthermore, you will be a key partner to the Catering & Sales Director on sales building at the local level, including building awareness and driving sales for New Store Openings.



Leadership & People Management

  • Develop and lead a team of high-performing individuals, starting with a Sales & Marketing Manager and Guest Relations & Social Media coordinator. Partake in key hiring conversations and decisions as team grows.
  • Partake in weekly cross-functional team meetings to provide key Sales & Marketing updates
  • Leader of select Business Growth & Innovation imperatives for the company


Consumer Insights

  • Leader of Mendo’s guest relations strategy, oversight of execution, and insights gathering. Responsible for circulating and leveraging guest relations insights across functions
  • Leverage consumer insights, guest relations data, and digital data (online ordering, app, eClub, My Mendo) to inform our marketing strategy and to drive increased visits and spend

Sales Building

  • Create strategic sales & marketing plans, informed by data, to support overall revenue-driving, and local store-specific revenue-driving
  • Oversee New Store Opening (NSO) Marketing planning and execution of opening tactics in partnership with Ops, and Catering & Sales Director
  • Collaborate on sales-building strategies and execution of marketing campaigns at the local level alongside Catering & Sales Director and Ops. Regularly review sales data and trends with both parties

Digital Marketing

  • Work in lockstep with Brand Marketing team on the deployment of overarching marketing campaign & content calendar across digital platforms (website, email, app, social media, paid media, 3rd party platforms)
  • Overarching CRM and loyalty strategy management
  • Partner with technology team to own the management of our owned digital platforms
  • SEO monitoring and optimization
  • Paid media strategy and deployment in partnership with ad agency


  • 6-8 years relevant experience with a skillset in both sales & marketing. Passion for sales building and digital media a must
  • Leadership: demonstrated ability to lead people, manage a team, and drive results
  • Planning: Ability to think and plan ahead over a one to two-year span
  • Management: Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
  • Collaboration: Ability to work with all different players and functions; inspiring innovative and new ideas with peers, and holding others accountable
  • Paid media: Familiar with paid media planning, execution and reporting

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
