Senior Legal Director
Description
- Provide legal advice to the company’s sales leadership team and communicate in a way that is easy for non-lawyers to understand.
- Lead negotiations on strategic commercial transactions and partnerships. Identify and anticipate legal risks in proposed deals, collaborate with the business and product teams to evaluate potential risks, and develop practical and scalable solutions to mitigate such risks.
- Manage and develop a team of attorneys globally, including guiding attorneys on a high volume of commercial transactions and managing escalations.
- Update and roll out legal terms related to commercial transactions and train sales and deal desk teams on the terms.
- Engage with internal stakeholders to identify issues in the contracting process and continuously drive improvement.
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law (preferably in California).
- 10+ years of experience as a commercial transactions attorney in-house (preferably technology, media, SaaS or cloud experience).
- Excellent negotiation, legal drafting, and communication skills.
- Experience in areas of intellectual property and data privacy law.
- A proven track-record of working effectively and supporting the sales team, exercising sound judgement that incorporates strong legal analysis, a pragmatic approach, and consideration of business goals, risk tolerance, and stakeholder priorities.
- Ability to balance a high volume of legal matters in a timely and effective manner.
- Knowledge and understanding of doing business globally, including working across organizational, functional, and geographic boundaries.
- Strong EQ and interpersonal skills, a collaborative nature, and the ability to work and communicate cross-functionally.
- A team player who values client/customer service and professionalism.
- Experience in managing and developing attorneys at different levels.

- Base Salary of $250,000 –$285,000 USD per year + 15% annual target bonus paid quarterly [subject to the terms of the applicable bonus plan]
