We are looking for: Seasonal Oncology Veterinary Technician
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 8am - 6pm
(Seasonal need will be from June-August)

Our Oncology department assists with chemotherapy and radiation treatments, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, as well as client education and communication. This is a fast-paced environment requiring attention to detail, compassion, and a desire to drive excellent patient care.
What you’ll do:
- Managing appointments: obtaining histories, medical record keeping, invoicing, patient discharges, etc., as well as organize and manage daily service flow
- Ensure documentation is accurate and complete
- Assist with chemotherapy and radiation therapy protocols
- Safety as it relates to secondary exposure and patient safety
- Administration procedures including extravasation protocols
- Medications, protocols and related drug dosages
- Drug calculations as they relate to the treatment plan
- Side effects and general treatment guidelines
- Vertical-flow hood maintenance
- Clinical studies/trials
- Setting up/assisting with CT and radiation treatments
- Venipuncture, restraint, basic laboratory skills
- Intravenous catheter placement, endotracheal intubation and anesthetic equipment use and maintenance
- Client communication and education
Who you are:
- State Registered Veterinary Technician license preferred
- Prior veterinary experience required, previous oncology experience desired
- Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
- Flexibility with work hours and able to work additional hours when necessary
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Compensation:
This position has an initial hiring range of $24.00 to $40.00 per hour based on skillset and experience.
We support caregivers with lucrative shift differentials:
-Hours worked between 8pm and 11:59pm = base pay + $2/hour
-Hours worked between 12am to 7:59am = base pay + $3/hour
-Hours worked on Weekends (day or night) = base pay +$1/hour + any applicable differential
