Facilities Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician you will focus on performing repairs and overall maintenance of MedVet’s facilities and grounds. Work collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Operations and Real Estate team, and Clinical team to provide building and equipment maintenance oversight and project management.
- Supports MedVet sites for facilities related needs (Columbus, OH, Toledo, OH and Commerce MI)
- Develops and maintains a responsive, open-line of communication with all levels of the organization, including but not limited to handling complaints, conflict resolution, operational considerations such as fire and life safety system testing.
- Ensure requests are acknowledged within 24 hours, prioritized based on other requests/projects, and proactively communicates status of ticket and resolution time.
- Completes and/or delegates project tasks submitted
- Manage assigned projects from definition to execution. Projects could vary from small retrofits, remodel, and/or equipment installation.
- Accountable for completion of inspections of the interior/exterior of the building and follows up on any deficiencies noted.
- Maintains all fire and life safety systems according to local code and in a way that protects clients and employees at all times.
- Manages and oversees any equipment or asset inventory.
- Oversees the following areas:
- Facilities equipment maintenance
- Facilities service providers
- Facilities safety
- Facilities small projects
- Provide facilities related on-call support
- MedVet provides all tools to complete job assignments.
Our ideal candidate has 1 or more years of facilities operations/maintenance experience. In addition, this position requires:
- Appropriately demonstrate acumen to support the operations and the day-to-day operation of maintenance functions.
- Hands on experience to perform building repair tasks and small, medium and large projects with high level of quality.
- Previous experience using power tools required.
- Familiarity and comfort with automated building systems, EMS (“Energy Management Systems”) and other enterprise software systems is a plus.
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs
- Previous experience using computer management maintenance software and help desk systems a plus
- 50% travel required to MedVet locations (Columbus, OH, Toledo, OH and Commerce MI.)
- Will require 2 days overnight travel to Toledo & Commerce, MI every other week.
