- Our Lexington hospital is AAHA accredited. In addition to emergency services, MedVet Lexington offers an Ophthalmology service.

Lexington is the Horse Capital of the World, with a growing food scene and 100 parks around the city. It is also the heart of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and home to the University of Kentucky Wildcats.
Lexington provides the perfect combination of city-country life. In the suburbs, you'll find historic neighborhoods as well as a few equestrian subdivisions. Home of the historic Keeneland Racecourse, Kentucky Horse Park, University of Kentucky and Transylvania University, you'll find plenty of local entertainment from world class horse racing to sports to live theatrical performances. The majority of bourbon is produced in and around Lexington, providing excellent opportunities for tastings, tours, and festivals to enjoy.
Looking for an easy day trip? Lexington's central location allows for an easy visit to Nashville, TN, Columbus, OH and many other locations within a few hours. There are also several airports located within a 90-minute drive providing for ample travel options.
Qualifications:
- DVM degree from an AVMA-recognized institution
- Current license to practice veterinary medicine in the state of your program
- Employment interview with background check
- Two letters of recommendation from clinical faculty members with knowledge of applicant’s clinical abilities and communication skills (new grads)

- ECMP is a 1-year training program with a 1 year ER commitment with your training hospital. It starts with mentored training and specialty rotations as you develop your ER clinical expertise. In the 2nd year you will be a full ER doctor earning salary plus production pay!
