Your Mission:

The Acorn AI Data Science Engineering team is seeking an Agile Project Manager to provide hands-on facilitation and coordination of our agile process to ensure the timely and quality delivery of Live Data Environment deliverables. This individual will support the Data Science Engineering team on a daily basis, in addition to helping streamline our team processes and operations. In this role, you will work with the Data Science Engineering team and partner teams in support of multiple Acorn AI products.


  • Organize and facilitate all sprint cadences (planning, review, retrospective, and standups). Accountable for Data Science Engineering team’s understanding and use of Scrum and other agile practices

  • Drive the use of good Agile/Scrum cadences in Live Data Environment including; user story writing, definition of done, team estimation, etc.

  • Facilitate the proper use of JIRA, Confluence and Aha by Data Science Engineering team to ensure that we have consistent source of truth

  • Coordinate closely with Product Managers to ensure that stakeholders are consulted and informed. Identify cross-team dependencies and work with Product Managers to address them

  • Improve team performance by identifying, managing, and supporting resolution of team impediments. Foster team self-organization and ownership of complex problems

  • Provide product and organizational visibility including dependency resolution, longer term planning, and organizational improvement

  • Driving Data Science Engineering team to make achievable plans in which there is high confidence through appropriate monitoring of team velocity and other KPIs

  • Responsible for Risk Management. Anticipate and manage risks and proactively communicate risks/issues to management in a timely manner, and offer creative solutions.

Your Competencies:

  • Must be able to clearly communicate with the team and be an active participant in discussions. Can successfully lead discussions when expected to do so and has excellent written skills.

  • Must be able to clearly demonstrate command and control of meetings (as appropriate) and has total respect and confidence from the team. Comfortable communicating at all levels and is effective at doing so

  • Must be able to perform all Scrum Master functions: schedules and leads the release planning, sprint planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming and daily scrum activities

  • Must be able to support the publishing and maintaining of project plans, schedules, issues lists, status reports, and meeting agendas with action items.

  • Must support establishment of standardized processes across Live Data Environment development lifecycle and release management.

  • Must ensure development team capacity to execute within each sprint, and resolve capacity and resource issues in collaboration with the Live Data Environment Lead(s).

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

  • 3+ years as an agile Project Manager / Scrum Master working with dedicated agile teams using Scrum and other Agile practices

  • Good understanding and experience with engineering development and product lifecycle

  • Proven capability of managing multiple priorities effectively and managing stakeholder expectations

  • Ability to communicate on issues of strategy, risk, process, and ongoing operations

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) a plus

  • Background in a regulated environment a plus
