Managing Partner, Business Development

The Managing Partner, Business Development, Acorn AI is responsible for driving Acorn AI penetration in key accounts, working closely with sales, to bring the best of Acorn AI and Medidata to bear in customer development, proposals, and pull-through. The Managing Partner will play a key role in defining the go-to-market approach, acting as a strategic partner to customers, and linking Acorn AI solutions to customer needs, responsible for maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction in order to remain consistent with Medidata business principles.
Develop strong relationships and act as a thought partner and adviser with Senior Executives at major life sciences companies
Link Medidata, Acorn AI, and Shyft products to needs at customers and develop programmatic relationships
Provide strategic input into product roadmaps and development plans based on own experience and customer feedback
Oversee key projects at major customers, ensuring great client experience and top level buy in
Work with sales team to drive pull through and renewals
Represent Medidata and Acorn AI at conferences / industry events
Management of a team of Sales across the US as part of the responsibility for driving bookings and revenue within the assigned Territory
Consistent attainment of all revenue and booking targets within assigned territory, per targets based on position referenced above
Development and execution of strategic sales plans as they relate to specific opportunities and accounts within assigned territory
Represent Medidata, Acorn AI in the field in a manner consistent with company business principles and ethics
Directly responsible for closing sales transactions with clients and prospects
Coordination of resources within sales and other departments in order to achieve objectives
Maintain and update sales plans, account and opportunity data within company systems as directed
Quarterly and/or annual sales targets differ by title/position and are covered under a separate document
Demonstrated consistent track record in exceeding sales targets and customer development and penetration
Demonstrated consistent tenacity and drive to achieve goals
Strong application software sales experience
Working knowledge of life sciences industry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated success with process approached selling
Ability to gain executive credibility, understand organizational political dynamics and competitive awareness
Strong business planning, development and organizational skills
Your Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree highly desirable
10 or more equivalent years of experience in business development, sales, customer facing roles
Experience in life sciences industry and/or medical/clinical operations desirable
