    Your Mission:

    CDS is looking for a Product Owner. The role will define product requirements, support management of cross-functional engineering efforts, perform analyses, and synthesize insights to accelerate the development and commercialization of cloud-based analytics and data management products. Together with product management, the Product Owner will identify the hardest business problem facing our users and will synthesize their use cases into specifications to be refined with our engineering and design teams. The Product Owner will work with our delivery and customer success teams to ensure that products are easily and optimally configured for our users, and with the end users themselves to conduct user research and collect feedback to continuously improve our solutions.

    • Develop and provide extensive subject matter expertise in product’s domain, from data management, analysis, and visualization

    • Translate business needs into requirements for a technical audience, including creating user stories, synthesizing use cases, defining acceptance criteria, and  documenting feature overviews

    • Work across an interdisciplinary team to prioritize and coordinate tasks, monitor progress, help resolve issues, and facilitate team meetings

    • Perform data-driven analyses and develop recommendations to guide decision making

    • Participate in and support interactions with clients to collect business requirements and drive product adoption

    • Help develop external communication material by translating and summarizing technical information for business audiences, and developing key messaging

    • Consult with the delivery team to ensure that our products are easy to deploy and have maximum impact where implemented

    • Work with product management to finalize product priorities in alignment with product roadmap, including bug fixes.

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated experience engaging and influencing cross-functional team members 

    • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with team members 

    • Ability to effectively communicate technical information and processes to relevant stakeholders, and to describe business problems and use cases to technical audiences

    • Critical thinking: Analysis and problem solving skills to address core business problems; Ability to effectively evaluate a problem or situation from all angles to determine the most appropriate solution

    • Must have a passion for turning data into valuable information and knowledge

    Your Education & Experience:

    • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or life science and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 1+ year experience

    • Relevant experience with life sciences and data management

    • Relevant experience with commercial pharmaceutical analytics

    • Agile software development experience. Experience working with designers a plus.

    • Working knowledge of SQL

    • Familiarity with data modeling practices a plus. Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages a plus
