As Senior Public Relations Writer you will be responsible for researching, writing and editing compelling PR materials, with a focus on company press releases. You will work with a wide variety of stakeholders across the company including executives, product and regional marketing, legal, IR, and others to plan, create and distribute news that aligns with marketing and business priorities. You are expected to leverage your outstanding writing skills, life science acumen and tech experience to create accurate and engaging content that speaks to our audience and boosts engagement with Medidata’s brand.
Writing and editing press releases for print and digital media
Writing and editing compelling content for industry publications and social media (blogs and websites)
Writing and editing thought leadership content for the company executive team
Conducting face-to-face and telephone interviews with various internal and external stakeholders (including company executives, regional and product marketing leads, sales and customers) to gather research and quotes used to develop content
Managing press release pipeline and approval process, ensuring that announcements are efficiently planned, written, approved and distributed in accordance with corporate/marketing strategy and goals
Tracking results of public relations efforts
Exceptional writing and editing skills
Deep experience in life sciences. Tech experience is a plus
A strong understanding of marketing and public relations principles
Able to think strategically and translate that thinking into planning and work products
Excellent planning skills and record of flawless execution
Self-driven; able to multitask and meet deadlines
Strong and effective
Successful project and process manager who is able to effectively interface with various stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal/influencing skills including ability to effectively build positive work relationships across the organization, including with executives
Demonstrated success working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Curious; a good learner
Effectively work with discretion when handling confidential information
Your Education & Experience:
5-10 years experience in public relations writing
3-5 years experience in life sciences
Experience in hi tech considered a plus
B.S/B.A in journalism, public relations, communications, or a related field
