Your Mission:

The Senior Business Systems Analyst will provide technology direction and project execution for the product organization. In this capacity, the BA is expected to support product leadership around relationship management, product ownership, project/program management, business process/analysis, quality and compliance. This position will lead projects from the beginning of client engagement through delivery/execution to our business partners. The Senior Business Analyst will interface with clients, industry experts, product managers, engineers, operations, architects, UX, UI, and domain experts to support drive innovation within Medidata. Your responsibilities:

  • Conduct Business Analysis: map out business process; capture business requirements and specifications (storyboards, creating and maintain user story backlogs); support translation into technical requirements. 

  • Enable translation of business requirements to functional solutions

  • Ability to interact with technical resources and translate business needs to a technical team; effectively communicate technical information and processes to relevant stakeholders

  • Ability to interact with customer users to understand their pain points and turn those into actionable user stories and product plans

  • Interact with other Medidata’s regulatory team to document issues that may have regulatory implications requirements for their offerings

  • Manage feature iteration throughout the product life cycle

  • Interact with architecture, engineering, and quality assurance teams during the entire software development life cycle

  • Assist in supporting product launches, release deployments and documentation

  • Maintain consistent efforts to deliver quality solutions as per the requirements and agreed upon scope

  • Continually work to improve domain knowledge

  • Document issues with resolutions and share them with team members to improve team productivity

  • Knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level and collaboration

  • Provide accurate and timely information and escalate when there are issues

  • Actively participate in meetings, including all agile meetings, and make valuable contributions 

Your Competencies:

Must Have 

  • Experience as a Business Analyst or Product Manager 

  • Strong analytical skills and familiarity with analytics technologies

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a rapidly changing environment 

  • Experience in workflow development & management

  • Experience defining functionality and managing a story backlog using the Agile methodology and tools

  • Passion for creating customer value through innovative technology solutions

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills

  • Interpersonal and consultative skills

  • Facilitation skills

  • Analytical thinking and problem solving

  • Being detail-oriented and capable of delivering a high level of accuracy

Nice to Have 

  • General Life Sciences or clinical trial expertise with pharma / life sciences drug development processes, or patient facing healthcare technology.

Your Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of Business Analyst experience required
