Your Mission:

Medidata, a division of Dassault Systèmes, is recruiting an Indirect Sourcing Specialist, specializing in Professional Services for its Corporate Procurement Department, which covers all Sourcing needs for its North American and Latin American offices.

The Indirect Sourcing Specialist - Americas will report to the Procurement Director, Dassault Systèmes based in New York, NY and will work closely with the Global Procurement Team based in the HQ in Velizy, France.  Responsibilities will include but not be limited to supporting the GEO as well as global Sourcing strategy in North America for Professional Services as well as Marketing & Events.

What Will Your Role Be? 

  • Participate and/or lead group sourcing projects, which may also include global team members

  • Prepare, negotiate and implement contracts in conjunction with corporate attorneys

  • Manage supplier relationships and/or sub commodities including leading or participating in regular supplier business reviews

  • Engage internal process owners as necessary to ensure a comprehensive and thorough implementation approach. May include but not be limited to: Legal, Compliance, Treasury, Finance & Accounting and IT

Your Challenges Ahead

  • Proactively establish and foster successful, positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, especially operational business owners and the vendor account executive.  Drive engagement through formal and informal interactions. 

  • Closely manage vendor contracts to mitigate risk and ensure successful vendor performance.

  • Analyze category spend, review existing processes and internal client needs and develop and execute a sourcing plan in targeted spend areas 

  • Address within sourcing strategy, Dassault’s required savings and compliance targets as well as improvement plans for enhanced service delivery. Target strategic suppliers for on-going supplier management, risk mitigation, quality improvement and cost savings. Develop and execute a negotiation strategy to achieve the best TCO for Services with proven, auditable metrics, which will be reported monthly 

  • Implement and monitor efficient sourcing processes in accordance with Dassault Systemes’ global policies and procedures 

  • Identify and target savings opportunities within category to optimize commodity/services budgets. By analyzing TCO, launch RFx to drive competition and innovative solutions 

  • Use marketplace benchmarking to assess and understand new opportunities/solutions to be developed, remain up to date on relevant industry trends, understand capabilities of new entrants into the market, and understand category cost drivers & pricing targets

     


Your Competencies:

  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, including ability to diagnose root causes and provide effective and sustainable solutions.

  • Must be proactive, exhibit continuous improvement mindset, and an ability to affect change and build consensus 

  • Proven project management skills 

  • Able to work comfortably with all levels of the organization (including top levels) in a global environment 

  • Expert MS Office skills, emphasis on Excel and ability to complete complex spend or data analysis upon which business decisions will be based

  • Presentation skills




Your Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree as a minimum

  • 5-8 years sourcing experience and expertise including knowledge of procurement tools and practices such as supplier diversity programs, TCO calculation, Purchasing Card, etc. 

  • Sourcing experience in Indirect categories, contract negotiation and supplier management; commodities/services in Information Technology 

  • Experience and competence in using integrated ERP software such as Workday and PeopleSoft

  • A strong knowledge of purchasing policies, procedures and practices including compliance with an ability to apply experience as necessary

  • Well versed in contract terminology and use of standard purchasing terms and conditions 

  • Experience in working within a multi-cultural environment and/or non US based company
