As a Senior Staff Enterprise Architect, you will act as the bridge between business goals and the realized system and create the artifacts that guide the building of a large, aligned, services-oriented architecture. You are someone who not only can research and design complex systems, but you like to code and get your hands dirty. You are passionate about the solutions the team builds, and you will inspire others to help realize the target state vision.
Define technical platforms, frameworks and system specifications for critical projects
Identifies and addresses gaps in technical solutions
Create a compelling technical vision with company-level impact, anticipating future customer requirements
Utilize processes/prototypes for rapidly iterating over solutions with key internal stakeholders
Engage & align solutions and technical direction with Medidata Enterprise Architecture
Document architecture decisions in a consistent, standard format
Responsible for the overall success of large, complex projects
Build networks with key decision makers and seeks consensus from stakeholders
Maintain and evolve coding standards and best practices
Develop leaders by coaching existing engineers and leading by example
Your Competencies :
10+ years related work experience in at least 3 IT disciplines (technical architecture, solution/application architecture, application development, middleware design, operations)
Experience building enterprise architecture roadmaps
Experience designing and managing complex infrastructure and cloud solutions
Experience designing for large scale, distributed, highly available, fault tolerant transactional and analytical systems in a dynamic environment
Experience with AWS and/or data design for cloud computing/multi-tenant/distributed systems and managing complex infrastructure
Comfortable designing and executing projects from scratch
Your Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field
*bonus points* Clinical research knowledge or experience working in a regulated environment
