Your Mission:

The Commercial Finance Sr. Manager will provide business and financial support to deal activities across the Medidata sale and ensure alignment with internal global business objectives and policies. 

  • Provide end-to-end financial support to the global Sales Team bringing together aspects of revenue recognition, transactional pricing, and contract structuring through partnership with Accounting/revenue recognition, Pricing, Sales Ops, and Legal Departments

  • Keep management apprised of financial results/issues and emerging trends; create analyses, commentary and presentation materials for executive updates and decision making

  • Lead process and system improvements within Finance and cross functional teams

  • Partner with Sales/Marketing, Business Development, Pricing and Finance to correctly position product portfolio and establish pricing programs aligned with product/sales strategy and revenue recognition requirements

  • Support global revenue forecasts and plans by providing input related to regional sales objectives, specific deals and long-term planning 

  • Lead strategic initiatives for commercial finance team including any regional reporting, operational initiatives 

  • Use financial analysis to  provide critical business Insight to Regional sales leadership and other leaders of the business including Acorn AI and Medidata Senior Leadership 

  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly financial package with departmental stakeholders; obtain feedback, commentary, and input for forecasting and business intelligence purposes


Your Competencies:

  • Knowledge in at least 4 of the following functional topics: Revenue Recognition, Pricing, Contracting, Quote support, Legal 

  • Prior system experience using Salesforce, Workday, Tableau or other financial and Business Information Systems a plus

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

  • Ability to work with dynamic concepts, work cross functionally and independently 

  • Excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills

  • Proven ability to analyze large and complex datasets using advanced capabilities 

  • Preparation and presentation of materials to various levels of leadership

  • Ability to balance several conflicting demands to achieve optimum services performance with minimum disruption to business operations

  • Computer literacy with regards to accounting systems and data consolidation systems

Your Education & Experience:

  • 7+ years or more related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, Masters degree preferred

  • Experience at a global SaaS company preferred or multinational enterprise company
