Your Mission: 

We are seeking an experienced executive and program manager to join our team in New York or Boston to manage the Medidata Technology Program Management Office (PMO). As the technology industry continues to evolve, we are actively pursuing a change agent with experience in agile and devops transformation for cloud based applications. 

In this role you will work directly with our Product, Engineering and Services teams to ensure the implementation of agile processes and the execution of product delivery. Primary responsibilities include building and maintaining a PMO that: ensures our agile practices are adhered to, devops principles are fully integrated and utilized, and products are released on time and with high quality. This role will also ensure the right tools are defined and implemented to support development across the entirety of Medidata Solutions.

In order to succeed, you will need to continually evolve, document, drive and sometimes create new processes needed to support an evolving market need. An attention to detail, being self-motivated, being flexible, and someone that can solve problems using agile techniques. 

  • Design, implement and document process for SCRUM, project, and program management across all Medidata Products 

  • Implement and manage an organization to support develop teams across all Medidata Products, Engineering and Services

  • Ensure PMO maintains project plans, charters, overviews, status reports, risk assessments, change requests and resource requirements

  • Support processes to develop detailed project schedule and project budget over multiple delivery periods

  • Manage project teams of various resources by providing leadership and work guidance across all phases of the project life cycle

  • Build and foster collaborative relationships across client organizations to perform consultative selling

  • Guide organizational change management for the implementation of Agile and Devops processes

  • Recommend, and influence project direction and decisions in formal, tailored presentations to groups of key decision makers at the executive level

  • Oversee Release Management process for all Medidata Products and Services

  • Manage Projects for Service Delivery and Cloud infrastructure teams

  • Identify, implement, and manage all development tools and applications (e.g. Aha!, Jira, etc)

  • Mentor & coach program managers, project managers, and SCRUM Masters

Your Competencies:

  • Experienced executive, leader, and team manager

  • Strong understanding and experience with Agile methodologies at scale 

  • Strong understanding of technology project management 

  • Understanding of life sciences industry (biopharmaceutical experience a plus)

  • Understanding of technical concepts and enterprise architecture

  • Expertise in full project life cycle (requirements, scoping, managing and delivering) service-oriented business process solutions and optimization

  • Experience with project metrics, including gathering, trend analysis, creation, and metrics reporting

  • Experience in business systems analysis and support in multiple industries or functional areas

  • Enthusiastic, flexible yet results driven attitude

Your Education & Experience:

  • Masters or Bachelor degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of software development and/or project/program management experience

  • PMI certification (for example, PMP or PMI ACP, or PRINCE 2) preferred 

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) preferred 

  • Knowledge of Smartsheets

  • Proficiency with Jira Agile, Github, GitPrime, Tableau, & Confluence
