This remote role is an opportunity for a current Masters or PhD student to spend several months part-time working on a scientific research project sponsored by the Medidata Institute, Acorn AI and Medidata’s thought leadership forum. This is a paid, virtual internship that will aim to take place Summer-Fall 2021. The intern will:
Work with a mentor(s) to identify and plan a project
Conduct scientific analyses on data using Medidata tools and technologies
Potentially draft abstract(s) for publication or submission to scientific conferences
Present regular updates to the Medidata Institute leadership and supporters
Work on a full-time vs. part-time basis contingent on discussion with their mentor(s)
Discuss length of the internship contingent on discussions with their mentor(s)
Qualifications / Competencies:
Understanding of how data and analytics can help improve how patients are diagnosed, treated, selected for clinical trials. Familiarity with personalized medicine concepts.
Comfortable doing data analytics. Understanding of statistical methods and experience analyzing data and using visualization tools.
Bachelor’s Degree required
Current Masters Program or PhD Program
Focuses in public health, statistics, epidemiology, study design of real-world studies, health economics and outcomes research, natural language processing, Bayesian inference, and similar fields are preferred
Minimum two years work experience preferably in healthcare / life sciences role
Ability to handle data independently and/or strong writing skills depending on scope of project
