Your Mission:

The Financial Analyst will support activities including financial and management reporting, monthly closing activities, monthly reporting on planned/forecasted performance vs. actual performance, assisting with planning and forecasting, and coordination with assigned departments in Finance. The Financial Analyst will assist in managing and developing business intelligence solutions for the company. The Financial Analyst will provide analytical support on new business initiatives and special projects as assigned and is expected to understand financial principles and apply working knowledge of the operations of assigned departments.
 

Main Duties:

  • Automation of manual reporting efforts through creating reports in Tableau, Workday, SalesForce,

  • Lead the creation, maintenance, analysis, and visualization of all data sources Medidata currently has, or will have in the future.

  • Streamline and reporting across multiple, disparate systems to drive efficiencies and increase accuracy

  • Creating KPIs/metrics to better understand the business and impact decision-making and strategic direction

  • Maintain revenue models and systems that drive the revenue reporting and forecasting process, and support enhancements to those models and systems

  • Assist in revenue reporting and analysis for monthly presentation to senior and executive management. Participate in preparation of various analytical reports for distribution to executive management.

  • Analyze historical performance to understand trends and key drivers. Make recommendations to improve performance and processes based on findings.

  • Work cross functionally with business partners including Finance, Sales, Sales Operations and Product/R&D to gather reporting requirements and build reporting that enables decision-making

  • Independently prepare, compile, and send Revenue Results reports to 3DS on a monthly basis

  • Liaise with 3DS counterparts to update and enhance reporting to parent company

  • Establish processes and track performance against annual plans, forecasts and projections.
    Assist in various finance led ad-hoc requests from the CFO and senior management

Your Competencies:

  • Proficiency with office automation software (MS Office Suite)

  • Proficiency with Tableau or related business intelligence and analytics software

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills

  • Ability to work with concepts and work independently

  • Excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills

  • Ability to balance several conflicting demands to achieve optimum services performance with minimum disruption to business operations

  • Sound experience in devising ways to extract data from many sources and translate this data into useful information

  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow fluctuations

  • Computer literacy with regards to accounting systems and data consolidation systems

  • Data visualization and demonstrated ability to use data to develop relevant insights and influence decision making

Your Education and Experience:

  • 4-year college degree required, or equivalent experience

  • Over 2 years work experience in a BI/Reporting capacity

  • Public accounting, consulting, or equivalent FP&A experience preferred
