Your Mission:

The Customer Business Operations Manager plays an important role in the Global Sales Operations team by developing and executing key projects in collaboration with our partners/sponsors to optimize operational processes and improve our customer relationship. A key project that this person shall undertake is to ensure the timely collection and application of payments from our customers and accurate accounts receivable reporting. This position is a customer facing role and requires a person who performs at a high level of accuracy and efficiency, is well organized and demonstrates ownership and initiative to accomplish goals.

  • Design, manage and execute different programs to resolve the A/R issues with our sponsors and partners (customers). Ensure collections of Medidata’s past due accounts receivables are handled efficiently and in a timely manner

  • Design, manage and execute different programs to resolve other operational issues with our sponsors and partners (customers) in collaboration with the sales team.

  • Engage with customers to streamline and optimize any business process and implement processes and programs to enhance and grow the business.

  • Work closely with Finance, Geo Sales Ops and Sales teams to provide necessary report/information/support to the customers for their payment

  • Evaluate and distribute customer A/R reports and payment progress on a weekly/monthly basis (as required)

  • Assist with the resolution of billing disputes, short payments, and credit memos

  • Maintain customer credit files

  • Responsible for process maintenance, documentation, and information management

  • Responsible to implement any other business process with our clients as determined by the business leaders.

Your Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to details

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, especially Excel and PowerPoint

  • Hands on, self-starting, disciplined, and detail-oriented individual with ability to work independently in a high volume, matrix reporting environment that requires a work product that is highly accurate and timely

  • Ability to exhibit poise, composure and confidence when confronting stressful or high-pressure situations

  • Exhibits a strong commitment to dependability and reliability with the ability to gain the confidence and respect of the customer base

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment

  • Able to engage collaboratively with both internal stakeholders and customers to overcome challenges and resolve issues, both proactively and reactively.

Your Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree required; or equivalent years of experience

  • A minimum of 8-10 years experience in Finance/Accounting/Sales Operations, especially in A/R collections type roles.

  • Experience in a customer facing role previously, in an A/R type role will be a plus.

  • High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office software

  • Project/program management experience is a plus

  • English/Mandarin speaking
