Global Director, Planning

(Day to Day MediaCom Senior Brand Client Lead and Full Funnel Integrator)

The Global Director, Planning will play a critical role in establishing MediaCom as VMware’s definitive strategic marketing partner for comms at a global level. You will accomplish this by elevating and inspiring the quality of our insights, strategic output and tactical work, whole also overseeing both the regular client relationship, and supervising the regional MediaCom teams to ensure they deliver deeper consumer/customer connections while growing the client’s business


Your Impact:

  • Work in partnership with all senior MediaCom Global and Regional leads on the VMware business to develop communications solutions that deliver on the VMWare clients  business goals
  • Establish solid, credible relationships with key Client and MediaCom stakeholders, alongside all and any other partners critical to our success in the relationship
  • Using your professional experience and knowledge, alongside global best practices, cases and learning, you will be expected to deliver an exceptional standard of excellence to deliver growth for our Clients business, while supervising all and any partners & personnel within our global network necessary to hit that objective
  • You will be expected to work with, support and align on all key needs for your clients as the lead of the account.
  • You will  develop a learning plan to cascade and train all key Client-side functional leaders, team directors, and staff, to ensure delivery of their business objectives
  • You must demonstrate fluency and agility to enable the development of best in class communications strategies that provide clear and actionable objectives, working through all appropriate channel roles/deliverables to deliver the clients needs.
  • Lead, manage, and inspire VMware team staff, both within the MediaCom team and your VMWare customers
  • Monitor and ensure the integration of strategy throughout the global and regional delivery process; demonstrate the ability to take action (or engage with others to do so) to modify/course-correct as needed to ensure the integrity of the plan and deliverables

  • Proven track record of business/marketing expertise and inspiring teams to develop actionable plans that drive results
  • A natural storyteller—a highly articulate and persuasive writer and speaker
  • Ability to simplify/synthesize complex data from a variety of sources and then communicate solutions in a simple, fresh perspective that clearly outlines the roles and deliverables of channels
  • Skilled familiarity with various research techniques and sources (qualitative consumer research, various forms of quantitative research methodologies)
  • The ability to work quickly and well under pressure, often multitasking on a variety of projects
  • A self-starter; works closely with manager but proactively looks for solutions
  • Ability to challenge conventional thinking in a constructive way
  • Natural facilitator; helps integrated agency teams cross-pollinate shared solutions
