Director, Social Strategy




We are seeking a Director, Social Strategy to join MediaCom’s Creative Systems' Social team.

The Social Strategy Director will work closely with clients, account team, creative team, data and analytics team to deliver actionable business and audience insights—helping Mediacom deliver the best performing campaigns through display ads, social ads, OLV, OOH, etc. Leveraging data & analytics to understand and optimize the consumer purchase journey, you will identify high-value audiences that will unlock growth for our clients. For an assigned portfolio of brands, you will work with Creative Directors and help oversee execution of advertising materials that accelerate consumers through their purchase journey (from awareness, to engagement, consideration, and conversion). 

The ideal candidate will have excellent all around expertise across the social spectrum. Reporting to the Head of Social, you will develop a detailed social strategy using insights from social intelligence leveraging social analysis, community management insights from RTL&E, Influencer activation strategies.

  • Oversee a team of senior and junior social analysts, Strategists
  • Route assignments to social analysts and ensure deadlines and client expectations are being met
  • Strategic leadership and oversight of reporting to ensure insights are actionable and report outputs are high quality
  • Dictate framework, methodology, and KPIs for analysts for develop social intelligence reports
  • Manage social intelligence client relationships
  • Assess social intelligence technologies to ensure agency subscribes to best-in-class services
  • Develop proposals and SOWs for new business
  • Support with research and presentations related to white papers and intellectual property

Your Qualifications:

  • 8-10 years of social media or primary research experience 
  • Strong understanding of the social media space and main platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).  
  • At least 8 years working with social listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Crimson Hexagon, Talkwalker, etc.), platform performance tools (e.g., Unmetric, Sharablee, etc.) and influencer/audience analysis tools (e.g., CubeYou/Helixa, TaggerMedia, SocialRank, etc.) with a “tool agnostic” mentality that can pick up a new tool and learn quickly if necessary
  • Conversant with current and evolving social media strategies, measurement tools and technologies and knowledge of social media marketing industry benchmarks
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel to easily manipulate data, and PowerPoint to tell a compelling story through data
  • Demonstrated ability to efficiently sift through data to identify actionable insights and recommendations
  • Familiarity with programmatic advertising a plus.
  • Experience working in a rapid test-and-learn environment for marketing campaigns
  • Skilled in optimizing digital media creative: CTR for display ads, retargeting, paid social
  • Proficiency in digital trends, best practices and measuring campaigns against KPIs.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
