Director, Global Commercial Director

Description

This position is a senior role in the agency, providing support and assistance to the Global Head of Commercial, local, and regional CEOs and where applicable the Global CFO and Client Presidents. You will work with our Global New Business and Trading functions, digital teams and specialist departments.

About the Role:

You will be tasked with the job of guiding the organisation through the commercial landscape. This means overseeing our commercial remuneration approaches with current and potential new incoming clients and identifying new market opportunities. In addition, you will:

  1. Manage, explore, and exploit the commercial opportunities that arise within the business and to ensure that the business is best placed to take advantage of those opportunities.
  2. Create and develop bespoke commercial solutions for our clients and our business.
  3. Safeguard the agency and ensure all appropriate contractual paperwork is in place and adhered to.

Your Impact:

  • Be the primary commercial contact point for specified cluster of clients, internal stakeholders, and global markets
  • Primary commercial contact for global markets
  • Lead and develop the following:
    • Existing client fee and contract negotiations
    • Construct and negotiate all commercial proposals for new business pitches
    • Client payment term extension requests alongside the market CFO
    • Client rate card creation
    • Client Commercial Dispute Management alongside CEO and FCFO
  • Support CFOs with client audit management (NDA's, scope agreement, pre-audit, supervision of audit, audit report review and commenting, client management
  • Work with the trading team to ensure trading linked incentive mechanics are achieved
  • Out of scope service fee negotiation (e.g., MBA, Social, Sports)
  • Support Legal and Business Affairs Director with data processing and supplier contracts
  • Ensure compliance and best practice in the set-up of new business operations
  • Consider and create Partnerships, both internal and external to WPP
  • Develop and drive organisational change where and as required
