Director, Planning



We are looking for a Director of Integrated Planning to join our team, responsible for serving as day-to-day liaison between the client and media community providing leadership, strategic direction, and input for media plans.


Your Impact:

Utilizing your excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, you will leverage experience, knowledge of the client’s business, and media skills to push innovative thinking. More specifically, you’ll

  • Lead all media planning and buying aspects of assigned accounts
  • Generate ideas and articulate “the big picture” above and beyond the detail level
  • Monitor client programs and day-t0-day business activity
  • Direct, develop, and oversee planning objectives and strategies that coincide with the client’s marketing direction
  • Lead all core partners as part of the entire client solution, including TV, social search, mobile, print, OOH, and other emerging platforms
  • Oversee the flow of client media-related issues and create solutions
  • Provide POV on various media in the marketplace
  • Manage account costs, revenue, and scope of work in accordance with client contract
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with client, media vendors, and GroupM teams
  • Sell MediaCom’s services and capabilities in new business pitches to prospective clients
  • Oversee budget allocation process for media and fees across all media platforms
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned


Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business Administration, or Communication; or equivalent professional work experience
  • 10+ years of directly related media experience
  • Solid understanding of interactive research tools such as Ad Relevance, @plan, and Media Metrix
  • Understanding of the principles of marketing and advertising, including media concepts and terms, creative and budget requirements
  • Fluent in mathematical concepts with an ability to translate data into well-articulated ideas
