Senior Research Executive, Global Insights

MediaCom are looking for a curious, ambitious and self-motivated mixed methodology Senior Research Executive (SRE) with at least 2 years’ research experience to join their central Global Insights team.
The successful candidate will have experience of designing and running bespoke research projects, analysing and presenting results, understanding how to meet clients’ research objectives and be comfortable discussing research techniques and results to clients and internal colleagues.
Exposure to and understanding of both qualitative and quantitative approaches is preferred for this role, as our team will run projects across both facets of research.
With a network of over 200 Insight experts around the world, this role will involve working with client account teams in London as well as assisting colleagues globally. Our work covers four core areas:
1.Bespoke client research projects
2.New business/Pitch support
3.New product development (NPD)
4.Talent, learning and development
Working within one of the world’s biggest media agencies can mean busy periods with short timelines, so the successful candidate will be able to meet demanding timescales whilst still maintaining top-quality insight outputs. This extends to being able to manage both internal stakeholders as well as third-party suppliers when running bespoke research projects. We expect all members of the team to be able to hold conversations about our tools and approaches with both fellow insight experts as well as other colleagues, and to be a champion for our syndicated subscription tools.
We are looking for someone with real enthusiasm for research work, keen to get stuck in and both learn and lead on projects from the get-go. We are recruiting for an SRE looking to further their career to Research Manager (RM) level and beyond at MediaCom, as the role will allow for exposure to some of the most senior and innovative leaders, thinking and work within the agency.

2 + years of relevant research/insight experience (obtained in a research/insight agency, media agency, or media owner insight team).
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of working with a range of consumer insight techniques, [preferably in an international cross market role]
The candidate must have a passion for data, research and analysis with an interest in a wide range of media and advertising insights outside of their core area of focus.
They will be a logical, quick thinker who is engaged with industry development and focused on generating great insight work.
Skills and Experience
What experience and/or achievement in a field, profession or a specialisation is required.
Strong skills and experience of project management, measurement and evaluation in the field of quantitative research.
Demonstrable experience and knowledge of qualitative research techniques and their applications
Demonstrable evidence of being a self-starter in enhancing product and service performance
Strong analytical, research and numerical skills
Good quality control – ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standard
Excellent time management skills
The candidate will be adept at presenting consumer insights and research in a simple, understandable format to people who are not research or insight experts.
Evidence of being confident working and collaborating with senior stakeholders (e.g. media owners, client leads and Agency heads)
Excellent team-working skills, with proven experience of working with others from diverse business backgrounds
Excellent written & verbal English language skills/grammar; a strong communicator.
Education, Qualification, Training
Indicates the level and type of education required or the professional qualifications and/or specific (internal) occupational training needed.
Educated to undergraduate degree-level [Ideally in marketing, business or other analytical/ research-based degree].
Professional marketing, media and/or Business qualification including research (e.g. MRS) would be desirable
Indicate what skills specific to the job are required, e.g. PowerPoint skills, payroll skills, etc.
The application of qualitative and quantitative data for consumer insights.
Project co-ordination and management experience
Knowledge and application of quantitative data analysis and processing software (e.g. MS excel, cross-tabbing software)
Experience using digital data analysis platforms (e.g. social media listening, or web analytics tools) or/ and advanced data analysis software like SPSS, would be an advantage.
Knowledge and application of qualitative research tools/ services (e.g. Online community software)
