The Role

 

The Media Manager will be responsible for planning and executing Dell Consumer, Gaming and Small Business campaigns in the UK, Sweden and Netherlands markets and drive best in class planning and implementation across all markets.

 

The role requires working with the MediaCom team made up of a range of key disciplines that help us deliver a top-class service to Dell: Account Management, Strategic Comms Planning, Business Science, Consumer Insight, MediaCom Beyond Advertising (content), Search, Digital, Social media.

 

This role is pivotal in delivering MediaCom’s output for Dell CSB in the following areas:

-          Communications planning for the Consumer, Gaming and Small Business aspects of Dell’s CSB business in EMEA

-          Planning and executing Brand and Response campaigns; so that we achieve the two objectives of Creating Demand and Converting Demand

 

Planning, Strategy & Execution of campaigns

 

  • Planning; coordinate strategic plans with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Work with BD/AD to create media strategy and rationale, present to client
  • Understand the planning process and train new team members
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of processes which could deliver
  • Analysis and Insight; interpret client briefs and manage deliverables
  • QA; ensure all client information is proofed prior to submission

Internal & External relationships

 

  • Effectively manage stakeholder relationships by ensuring expectations are well managed.
  • Act as business adviser to the client clarifying reporting/data requirements and requests to ensure accurate and meaningful reports and insights are provided which are directly linked to agreed campaign KPI’s.
  • Maintain a sustainable positive relationship with key customer stakeholders and maintain contact as appropriate and expected.
  • Ensure compliance with any customer defined service level agreements and performance standards.
  • Attend and/or lead key customer meetings/calls, as required.
  • Engage with and become a trusted advisor to Dell Marketing Leads
  • Build and maintain excellent client relationships through best in class client servicing
  • Participate in all client meetings as required, contribute to production and presentation of QBRs, RTBs and ad-hoc presentations
  • Anticipation of clients’ needs and setting up internal process to meet them
  • Recognise and evaluate good work from within and outside of MediaCom (locally, regionally, globally), the client, the client category, and be confident in sharing and re-applying lessons from it.
  • Report in to AD line manager frequently and proactively
  • Take control of line managing more junior members of the team
  • Review team task lists on a weekly process to monitor total dept output

 

Market support, practice development

  • Embrace and advocate the use of Mediacom’s System Planning approach, ensuring this becomes the focal point of our ways of working
  • Remain up to date with market trends; use this information to inform future strategy
  • Ensure relevant business knowledge is deployed, shared and retained within the team and shared across the wider function where relevant

 

Specific areas of focus include:

 

  • Overall client satisfaction
  • Maintain and improve campaign performance through relationship building within internal MediaCom teams
  • Working with the Associate Director to deliver the developed strategy, ensure timely communication and management of client expectations
  • Working closely with specialist central teams as well as local markets to safeguard timely delivery of services.
  • Develop central strategy
  • Usually working with a CSB EMEA leadership team, develop clear and well supported central strategy or framework for the communication planning that will be help generate effective and innovative media plans.
  • Brief and inspire local markets
  • Provide local markets with clear and relevant direction and ensure successful implementation of the strategic approach through the selected channels.
  • Communicate and support Global initiatives from the US Mediacom team.
  • Provide accurate and timely information flow from local to global in accordance with the agreed scope of work.
  • Look for ways to harmonize or automate standard reports using MediaCom’s reporting tools

 

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong team player and team leader
  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Good analytical thinker, with strategic skills
  • In-depth understanding of media to defend recommendations and advise clients on their optimum approach.
  • Good Attention to Detail
  • Can do Attitude and takes ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to present to senior clients

 

 

Desirable

 

  • Experience of Direct Response advertising not essential, but helpful
  • Good knowledge of digital media

 

 

The Process

 

Expected 2-3 step process in order to get the opportunity to meet the team.

There will be at least 2 interviews:
