The Global Business Development team is integral to the growth of our business. As such, it is fast paced, challenging and offers people the chance to experience all facets of MediaCom. Integrating with a cross section of divisions and markets and working with people at all levels means that we have an in-depth knowledge of how we can utilise our expertise in marketing ourselves and raising our profile. Led by Jo Rigby, the Global Business Development team is made up of four sub-teams; New Business Development, Marketing, Design and Systems. This role sits within New Business Development.
It is our responsibility to manage the global new business process effectively, to make sure all facets of the pitch run seamlessly and that we are delivering the most provocative team, systems and thinking at every touchpoint.
We do this by championing new business excellence through all markets across the world, ensuring everything we develop centrally is shared and reapplied locally.
The opportunity for growth
This role sits within New Business Development in an operational capacity and has three key areas of focus:
Organisation: Ensuring every pitch process is organised and managed seamlessly, and we are set up to win.
Integration: Fostering a collaborative spirit in the extended Global Business Development team as well as the wider agency.
Inspiration: Sharing and reapplying best practice across the world, while making working on a pitch a growth goal for everyone at MediaCom.
This is a fantastic entry-level position. The role provides the opportunity to work on some of the biggest clients and media thinkers in the industry. We are constantly pitching clients in many markets and sectors, therefore the work will allow you to expand your knowledge of different categories and work with disciplines from all across the agency and network.
We have clear goals and ambitions for the next three years and the co-ordinator role is fundamental to deliver against them. The remit includes:
- Assist the team with pitch operational duties (general administrative support, extensive organisation of documents, meetings, local market process development and organisation)
- Manage new business reporting documents (internal target trackers and prospect lists)
- Support the production of RFI and RFP responses
- Coordination of pitch collateral material, liaising with the Global Design team on PowerPoint and print design, video production and external resources
- Build relationships with the wider Global Business Development team and identify areas for collaboration
- Support the wider MediaCom business on ad-hoc projects such as workshops and conferences
- Keep the central and global community Teams sites updated with new and relevant content (best pitch work, best RFI/RFP responses)
- Build global/local relationships with allocated markets, supporting them with requests and best practise guidance
- Ensure WIN, our new business toolkit is regularly updated, widely communicated and adoption is encouraged
This entry-level role is suited to someone looking to enter the communications industry for the first time, or perhaps somebody with 1-2 years of experience in an agency environment looking for their next move.
Above all you will need to have a positive, can-do attitude, be brimming with confidence and unafraid of hard work. Business Development presents a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to the most senior people in the business very early on in your career and fast-track your growth, but requires reliability, dedication and proactivity.
You’ll need to have a keen eye for detail, be organised, driven, and an exceptional communicator. An understanding and/or interest in the communications industry is a must, and Microsoft Office proficiency would be an advantage.
