Responsibilities

Pitch project management

  • Run our global pitch process on pitches <$50m and support global and local priority pitches following our Win toolkit from briefing to close: developing a project plan, communicating timings, roles and responsibilities, taking meeting notes and circulating actions, ownership of Teams site + sharing of all pitch related materials and comms with markets; enabling the team to focus on delivering the best work possible
  • Ensure pitch deliverables are met on time, engaging with senior stakeholders when needed and always ready to solve any problem with the right energy and resourcefulness with a plan b at all times
  • Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, delivering work without a single mistake always ahead of or to deadline
  • Act as a key contact for markets, offering support and handling queries quickly
  • Own RFIs and manage the completion of RFPs, taking responsibility for proof reading and editing to improve grammar and spelling as well as simplification of language
  • Champion The System, Mediacom’s proprietary planning and collaboration platform 
  • Elevate the work in markets by contributing to storytelling and pitch decision making eg casting, as well as ensuring the global positioning is understood and adopted
  • Oversee the development of all pitch collateral, working closely with design to create stand out documents, videos and theatre

Team operations

  • Reporting duties, both internally at Mediacom, to GroupM/WPP and externally with COMvergence, RECMA and R3, working closely with our Business Systems team
  • Own the RFI/RFP and case study libraries, identifying best in class work to store and share
  • 1 direct report – take responsibility for the delegation of work as well as their growth and development at MediaCom

Business development

  • Support the team and markets in active prospecting globally & locally, establishing good momentum and a sense of ownership in the markets
  • Collaborate across functions to bring the best of MediaCom in pitches by building strong peer relationships across the agency, GroupM and WPP and new business teams across the world
  • Work closely with our Product teams to understand the functionality and benefits, bringing the very best to pitches
  • Contribute to pitch stories, providing insights to support the strategy through industry tools and desk research working closely with strategists and implementation specialists
  • Share updates and market insights proactively with the team and wider community where appropriate, analysing and summarising findings

  • Experience running research tools eg TGI, comfortable summarising insights
  • A desire to always learn and continuously improve, never satisfied standing still or taking no for an answer

Other

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience in a media environment with pitching experience. You may have worked on a client team in an agency and are looking for your next move, or come from a research/insights/data role. You may be on an existing business development agency team.

A passion for communications is essential, as is an entrepreneurial, analytical mindset, a positive attitude and confidence. You can’t be afraid of hard work.

Business Development presents a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to the most senior people in the business and fast-track your growth, but requires reliability, dedication and proactivity.

We champion flexible working but you will be expected to be in the office during a live pitch and some travel may also be necessary.
