Head of New Business – partner/Managing partner

 

Reporting to: Luke Bozeat, COO

 

KPI’s:

  • To win £xxxxxxx
  • For all new business pitches to run smoothly with presentations being on time, visually excellent and without fault
  • For MediaCom to be know as a creative force
  • For people at MediaCom to be desperate to work on new biz

 

Objectives:

 

  • To redesign and boss our pitch process and ensure they are friction-less for the teams doing the work
  • To ensure that intermediaries and other external stakeholders have a clear & strong opinion of what MediaCom brings
  • To develop strong horizontal partnerships across the WPP network to add to our story – establishing clear ways of working between partners to enable teams to deliver more growth via prospecting new clients & new streams (for current clients)

 

What this role is:

 

Evolve the pitch process – To assess the current ways of working & learnings from past wins/losses to build a better, more efficient, more inclusive and engaging pitch process.

 

Boss the pitch process end to end – Own driving pitches forward, clarity on roles & responsibilities, timelines, delivering the RFI / written submission, holding people accountable to the process and responsibilities

 

Ensuring the team deliver the day to day admin of New Business – for example, new business data and data systems (McDab etc) or production of collateral for pitches

 

Managing the team (up and down)

 

Managing intermediaries, procurement, and prospective clients 

 

Make New Business a magnet for agency talent - Promoting the work of new business across the agency, and making it the place our best talent wants to work

 

Coordinating new business efforts - Across UK offices, MediaCom global, GroupM, and WPP including the sharing of best practice & establishing effective working relationships

 

What this role isn’t

 

Leading the pitch – this is the job of the MP or BD

Writing the pitch presentation – this is the pitch team’s responsibility

Presenting in the pitch meeting – although sometimes required to attend introduction and briefing meetings

Owning the retention plan – this is the job of the MP or BD

Marketing – we have a different team who handle this
