The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking a highly organized and results-driven Office Manager to oversee the day-to-day administrative operations of the transportation unit. This role is responsible for supervising support staff, managing office procedures, ensuring compliance with agency policies, and facilitating efficient workflow across departments. The Office Manager serves as a key liaison between internal teams and executive leadership, helping to support MDOT’s mission of providing safe, sustainable, and efficient transportation solutions across Maryland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily administrative operations, including office workflows, communications, scheduling, and records management.
  • Supervise and train administrative support staff; assign and monitor workloads, ensure quality of work, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Manage procurement requests, inventory tracking, and office supply purchases in compliance with MDOT/state procurement policies.
  • Coordinate staff onboarding, training logistics, meeting preparation, and travel arrangements.
  • Maintain timekeeping records, leave requests, and personnel documentation in accordance with HR and labor policies.
  • Ensure compliance with agency and state records retention, data privacy, and reporting requirements.
  • Prepare reports, memos, presentations, and correspondence for leadership or public distribution.
  • Support budget planning and expenditure tracking for the division, including invoice processing and financial reconciliation.
  • Act as a point of contact for internal departments, external vendors, and the general public on administrative matters.
  • Contribute to improving office systems, procedures, and workflow efficiency
