As a McClatchy Intern, you can expect to: 

  • Be treated like a staff member, whether you are working as a reporter, visual storyteller, or audience / social media specialist. 

  • You will be assigned to a senior-level mentor during the internship and will receive coaching, training and mentoring.

  • Work with seasoned staffers and work directly with local leaders.

Our internships are 10-12 weeks. We have at least one internship in all 30 of McClatchy's newsrooms in the United States. 

We are seeking smart, curious self-starters who are interested in a professional career in journalism, multimedia and digital design.

We believe in telling the stories that shape and shake our world. We believe that trust is essential and that truth doesn’t have versions.
