POSITION SUMMARY

The Pile Driver Operator is part of the team that is largely responsible for the safe and successful installation of various solar equipment. The Pile Driver Operator will utilize a wide variety of tools and machines to assemble and construct the solar equipment based on the scheduled work plans. The Solar Pile Driver Operator may also be assigned additional duties on the job as required by the project leadership.


RESPONSIBILITIES

 
  • Set up machine properly before installing piles.  
  • Able to effectively communicate with piles tender before and during installation of piles.  
  • Set up and use lasers and use receivers properly for piles elevation heights.  
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and load charts.  
  • Clean, maintain and conduct basic equipment repairs.   
  • Assist Foreman in installation of various pile types, maintenance, and greasing of pile equipment.  
  • Check work along the way to ensure adherence to code and specifications  
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure materials are plumb, level, and secure.  
  • Measure height, width, length, and other proportions.  
  • Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated, and optimized.  
  • Ability to work with double hearing protection, including ear plugs and earmuffs. 
  • All other duties assigned by site leadership


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum age: 18+
  • Previous experience operating PD5, PD10, Gayk, or other pile driving machinery required.  
  • Prior solar experience preferred.  
  • Proven track record of safety.  
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and leadership within the team.   
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, pulling of material weighing 50 lbs.   
  • Ability to squat, crawl and work in awkward positions and confined spaces.   
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.   
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and precipitation. 
  • Unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth and color perception.   
  • Self-motivated.  
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment.   
  • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.   
  • Proof of Identity and Employment Authorization
