Position Overview:

With minimal supervision assists commercial operations staff in the maintenance and operation of packaging equipment.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Operational Readiness:  Ensure packaging equipment is maintained and operating efficiently at all times and that the production schedule is maintained to meet site and business goals
  • Problem Solving:  Uses a logical approach to address problems or opportunities
  • Quality: Ensures the quality of work, products and services as a first priority; complies or exceeds all regulatory, safety, and GMP compliance standards
  • Safety:  Adheres to all workplace safety laws, regulations, standards, and practices and actively advances a culture of safety within their team and organization

Specific Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing entry level duties with minimum supervision. The individual learns Basic Principles of pharmaceutical packaging and functions of packaging equipment including serialization with guidance from supervision and other SME’s.
  • Performs set up, maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to the packaging line equipment.
  • Performs equipment preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Compile and maintain all information and document relevant to all work under FDA guidelines.
  • Coordinate repairs/installations with facilities staff, contractors and users to minimize interruptions.
  • Work as part of a team with manufacturing staff, users and vendors to continuously improve operations.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Proven mechanical experience and aptitude

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs unassisted
  • Majority of work day is performed while standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing
  • Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations
  • Requires bending, squatting, reaching, pushing, climbing
  • Requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Some exposure to hazardous chemical and other active chemical ingredients
