As a Special Projects Coordinator, you’ll play an important role in bringing construction and remodel projects to life across our stores by coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. You’ll help manage projects from planning and permitting through completion, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, on time, and within budget. The Special Projects Coordinator plays a key role in helping Maverik successfully deliver construction projects across our stores. By coordinating project details, timelines, vendors, and budgets, this role helps ensure projects are completed efficiently while supporting the continued growth and improvement of our store network.

Location/Schedule 

This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day each week. Travel to job sites is required as needed and may include occasional overnight or daily travel, up to 30% of the time.

What You’ll do in this Role 

    • Coordinate efforts between architects and engineers as architectural engineering drawings are created
    • Coordinate with governing agencies for permitting of smaller scale minor construction projects, and remodels, including but not limited to, store and fuel reconstruction projects
    • Coordinate bidding process, including but not limited to, collecting & reviewing bids, providing recommendations regarding which bid(s) are accepted, and participating in the final bid acceptance decision-making process
    • Manage smaller scale minor construction projects, including but not limited to, store and fuel reconstruction projects, to ensure that projects are completed per project specs, on time, and on budget 
    • Provide value engineering recommendations for projects and bring recommendations to the team

Scheduling and shift assignments and work location may be changed at any time, as required by business necessity.

    You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have: 

    • 2+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Proficient in MS Office, including intermediate-level Excel skills

    Bonus points if you also bring: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent from a College, University, or Technical School preferred; an Associate’s Degree in a related field may also be considered.

    Compensation & Benefits 

    Pay Range:$52,000-$60,000 + DOE and Bonus Opportunities 

    The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
