As a Fuel Accounting Clerk, you’ll play a critical role behind the scenes of Maverik’s fuel operations, ensuring fuel deliveries are accurately documented, billed, and reconciled. This role partners closely with vendors, drivers, and store teams to maintain precise financial records, support audits, and keep our fuel accounting processes running smoothly and efficiently.

This role directly impacts the accuracy of fuel billing, vendor payments, and financial reporting—helping ensure our stores are charged correctly, suppliers are paid accurately, and Maverik’s fuel operations remain compliant and audit-ready.
Location/Schedule
This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day each week.
What You’ll do in this Role
- Enter invoices from fuel suppliers including verifying proper supporting documentation
- Accurately enter driver fuel delivery orders to prepare for billing
- Ensure driver paperwork matches delivery reports and the fuel load is billed to the proper store location
- Maintain accurate filing of bill of ladings, invoices, and delivery tickets
- Reconcile vendor payments
- Assist manager with period reconciliation and miscellaneous audits
- Communicate with stores and drivers to assure documentation accuracy

You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:
- 1+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, accounts payable, or a related role
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately process and reconcile high-volume transactions
- Experience working with invoices, documentation, and financial records
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with stores, drivers, vendors, and internal teams
Bonus points if you also bring:
- An Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience with fuel accounting, logistics, or inventory-related billing
- Familiarity with reconciliations, audits, or period-end close processes
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range:$18.50/hr-$20.50/hr + DOE and Bonus Opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
