As an Inside Sales Representative, you’ll play a key role in growing Maverik’s commercial fleet business by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and helping businesses find the right fueling solutions for their needs. You’ll own the sales process from prospecting and discovery through negotiation, closing, onboarding, and account growth, working with small to mid-sized commercial fleets. This role directly contributes to Maverik’s commercial growth by bringing in new fleet customers, increasing fuel volume and revenue, and building long-term customer relationships. By expanding Maverik’s commercial fleet business, the Inside Sales Representative helps strengthen our customer base and supports the continued growth of our commercial sales organization.
Location/Schedule
This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day each week.
What You’ll do in this Role
- Generate new commercial fleet business through outbound prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, email campaigns, referrals, and other sales activities.
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective customers within assigned markets or territories.
- Identify customer business and fueling needs and recommend fleet card, fuel discount, reporting, card control, and account management solutions.
- Manage opportunities throughout the sales cycle, including prospecting, discovery, solution development, proposal, negotiation, closing, and onboarding.
- Achieve established sales goals, including new accounts, fleet card activations, fuel gallons, revenue, margin, and other key performance measures.
- Develop relationships with business owners, fleet managers, operations leaders, and other key customer decision-makers to support retention and account growth.
- Monitor customer activity and market trends to identify opportunities for additional fuel volume, account expansion, improved retention, and competitive positioning.

You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Demonstrated experience prospecting, developing, and closing new business opportunities.
- Experience managing a sales pipeline and working within a CRM platform.
- Strong sales, business development, consultative selling, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to influence customer decisions and build trust.
- Results-oriented with the ability to achieve established sales, revenue, margin, and growth goals.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple customers and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Bonus points if you also bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of inside sales, business development, account management, or customer-facing sales experience preferred.
- Experience selling fleet cards, fuel programs, payment solutions, loyalty programs, transportation services, or other B2B solutions preferred.
- Experience within commercial fleet, fuel management, convenience retail, transportation, or a related industry preferred.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications; Salesforce or similar CRM experience preferred.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range: $70,000–$75,000 base salary, DOE, + commission opportunities
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
