Take the lead behind the scenes of Maverik’s growing Store Development team as our Manager of Construction Job Cost. You’ll lead and develop a team of Project Assistants while overseeing the processes that keep our new stores, remodels, and special projects financially on track. From construction budgets and project costs to contracts, payments, reporting, and process improvements, you’ll have the opportunity to bring teams together, improve how we work, and help support Maverik’s continued growth.

Just as importantly, you’ll develop a team that supports construction projects across the organization and helps turn Maverik’s growth plans into reality. 

Location/Schedule 

This role is based at our Salt Lake City Headquarters and follows a hybrid schedule with four days in-office and one remote day each week. 

What You’ll do in this Role 

  • Provides leadership to direct reports, including but not limited to, hiring, training and development
  • Examine and review cost records and ensure data is allocated correctly
  • Assist in preparation and approval process of construction project budgets
  • Serve as administrator for Real Estate Department contract management software
  • Communicate and coach team to understand the overall picture of projects, revenues, costing, PO invoicing, and progress billings
  • Verify job commitments, invoices, future costs, and closeouts to accurately manage and close jobs
  • Coordinate with Accounting and Financial Planning Teams to ensure correct asset reporting 
  • Maintain construction project bond documentation and track release of bond funding
  • Coordinate with Senior Director of Construction and Legal Team to maintain contract templates

You’ll be a great fit for this adventure if you have: 

  • 5+ years of construction job cost accounting experience and/or training.
  • 1+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite Products.

Bonus points if you also bring: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, Real Estate, or a related field preferred. 

Compensation & Benefits 

Pay Range: $80,000-$90,000/year + DOE and Bonus Opportunities 

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Maverik considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills, and current market conditions.
