Responsibilities

The College / Intern Recruiter will work with Division Managers to recruit and track college interns throughout our Mattamy Homes US markets along with other recruiting duties (training provided): 

  • Research, schedule and attend college career fairs to help recruit up and coming talent for various departments throughout Mattamy Homes (Finance, Construction, Purchasing, Sales, and more)
  • Communicate with and track students that are interested in positions with Mattamy Homes
  • Full cycle recruitment for assigned positions from entry to mid-level across the organization
  • In partnership with the Talent Acquisition Manager and VP - Human Resources establish a recruiting strategy for assigned open roles
  • Screen candidates (resume and telephone screening)
  • Act as primary communication point with applicants and candidates from initial contact point to offer
  • Prepare a short list of candidates and prepare candidate summaries for the hiring manager
  • Make salary suggestions to hiring managers, make and negotiate salaries with candidates and assist with onboarding all new hires
  • Develop working partnerships with managers to understand business requirements
  • Proactively and continually source, develop and maintain an effective pipeline and network of diverse talent by leveraging recruiting resources such as the internet, Applicant Tracking System, professional organizations and community associations as needed
  • Develop recruitment strategies and coach managers in developing their skills in assessment and selection of candidates  
  • Work to meet established recruiting metrics. Provide insightful analysis of reports and make recommendations for improvements
  • Participate as a member of the larger HR team in pursuing assigned HR accountabilities and projects, as well as relevant support in overall goals of the client groups  

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resources or related field
  • Experience in recruiting preferred, not required
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, receive constructive feedback, and maintain adaptability and flexibility
  • Should have the ability to take ownership of selection process and successfully manage a high-volume workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and switch tasks quickly while maintaining focus and sense of urgency
  • HR Generalist experience would be considered an asset
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish credibility and trust as well as build relationships
  • Positive attitude, responsive, action and results oriented
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office
