What we offer
The Product Owner, Data & Analytics acts as the primary business partner between Mattamy’s business teams and the Data Analytics function. This role is responsible for shaping, prioritizing, and managing analytics demand to ensure data and analytics initiatives are aligned with business priorities and deliver meaningful, measurable value.
Operating as a senior individual contributor, the Product Owner works closely with business leaders, the Director, AI-Ready Data Products, and analytics delivery teams to translate business needs into clear, actionable analytics initiatives and to support adoption of analytics solutions across the organization.
What you’ll do
- Serve as the primary analytics contact for assigned business functions, building strong working relationships with business leaders to understand objectives, challenges, and decision‑making needs.
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify, shape, and prioritize analytics use cases aligned with business priorities and outcomes.
- Manage the intake of analytics requests and work with the Director, AI-Ready Data Products to balance demand, value, and delivery capacity.
- Translate business needs into clear analytics requirements, success measures, and acceptance criteria.
- Support the development and maintenance of analytics roadmaps for assigned domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise priorities.
- Collaborate closely with data analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Participate in planning, review, and feedback cycles to ensure analytics solutions meet business expectations.
- Validate analytics outputs prior to release and support issue resolution as needed.
- Support change management, communication, and training to drive adoption of analytics solutions.
- Gather feedback from users and business partners to continuously improve analytics products and insights.
- Help track and communicate the value delivered by analytics initiatives.
- Ensure analytics requests and solutions align with enterprise data governance, quality standards, and reporting definitions.
- Promote consistent metrics, reporting, and data usage across business teams.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 5+ years of experience in analytics, data, business analysis, or related data‑driven roles.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to understand objectives, challenges, and decision‑making needs.
- Experience translating business requirements into analytics use cases, requirements, or user stories.
- Strong understanding of how data and analytics support business performance and operational decision‑making.
- Experience working with analytics delivery teams (e.g., data analysts, data engineers) in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, balance competing demands, and exercise sound judgement in prioritization.
- Experience working in agile, iterative, or value‑focused delivery environments.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, and comfort operating in a matrixed organization.
Bonus points
- Experience in a business‑facing analytics or product ownership role
- Familiarity with Power BI and enterprise analytics environments
- Experience working in a matrixed or multi‑business organization
- Exposure to advanced analytics or AI‑enabled initiatives
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $130,000. Actual pay may vary depending on your job-related knowledge, competencies, and skills. We recognize that exceptional situations may fall outside this range, and we encourage all interested candidates to apply.
You are also eligible to participate in Mattamy’s annual bonus program which gives you the opportunity to increase your total compensation if business and individual goals are achieved.
