What we offer

Mattamy’s Greater Toronto Urban (GTU) multi-residential division is the growth engine of Mattamy Homes Canada.  In its first three years, the GTU division already enjoys an existing multi-residential portfolio, with formidable brand recognition, and a development pipeline that will see thousands of new mid and high-rise condominium suites brought to the market within the next few years across the GTA area municipalities.

 

The Vice President, Product Design reporting to Division President, is an innovative and process orientated professional with a proven track record of building high performing teams. This role plays an integral role in the planning and execution of Mattamy communities in developing future product offerings to meet the evolving needs of homebuyers.   This individual will have the opportunity to support with acquisition assessments, work “end to end” through the pre-community design, work with community teams during the pre-construction phase, and manage the selection and sale of upgrades via the Design Studio team.

What you’ll do

 

  • Lead the product design portion of our community visioning process helping to establish key building design parameters, amenity and suite programmatic requirements.
  • Work with internal community creation teams to establish and document overall project design and product tiers, preferred specifications, and design parameters.
  • Provide support in the selection of key design consultants and communicate key product standards to design consultants for inclusion in project specifications.
  • Lead high performing teams, coaching, mentoring, and providing performance feedback.
  • Develop standard project specifications template based on corporate branding standards, market, and project specific considerations.
  • Support sustainability and other innovation initiatives and objectives that emerge at the community or project level, helping to integrate new features and elements in a balanced way to the larger product design.
  • Assess constructability/compatibility of upgrade options with internal teams.

          Work with the Director, Design Studio to appropriately forecast revenue for inclusion in community proformas.

          Assess upgrade program as it relates to ongoing product development progress to determine base offering versus upgrades.

          Multidisciplinary coordination of project teams for market research with support from development, sales, and marketing teams on product development.

          Remain current on specific political, regulatory, and market trends to keep the business informed of potential changes within the industry.

  • Foster a culture of service, safety, inclusion and respect for employees, consultants and stakeholders.

 

What you bring

  • Bachelor's (or) degree in Design/Architecture, Business, Engineering, and/or Construction Management.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience managing complex projects, coupled with a minimum of 5 years or more as a people leader. 
  • Experience working in a similar industry with an architectural firm, developer-builder, asset property management, and/or public agencies.
  • Proven leadership skills honed by success at the senior management level of mid-sized to major organizations.
  • Demonstrable experience executing on long range and/or complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Extensive experience working with consultants, architects, planners, contractors, and municipal and provincial authorities.
  • Technology savvy with proven experience working with an ERP System, together with exceptional analytic, quantitative and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrates confidence, leadership skills, honesty, and integrity together with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Innovative and creative mindset with an entrepreneurial spirit constantly aware of market and evolving customer desires.

Bonus points

  • MBA or similar
  • Understanding of building drawings, codes, and site specifications.
